Abstract
El análisis de los tópicos en acta y passiones, la constatación de los límites que esta categoría tiene para definir los temas recurrentes contenidos en los textos martiriales, y la propuesta de emplear un concepto diferente para referirse a ellos, el de paradigma, ha llevado a releer toda la experiencia del mártir desde una perspectiva paradigmática, específicamente como un recorrido paradigmático de asimilación a Dios. La naturaleza paradigmática de los tópicos depende, en gran medida, de los sujetos, los mártires, a quienes estos buscan exaltar. Los propios mártires son, de hecho, figuras presentadas como paradigmáticas. Ellos son paradeigmata, exempla tanto para sí mismos como para los demás, en virtud de cómo han sabido seguir el ejemplo arquetípico de Cristo. La experiencia del mártir comienza, de hecho, con el anhelo paradigmático consistente en la imitatio Christi. Esta secuela no se limita a la mera repetición de los gestos realizados por Cristo o de las palabras pronunciadas por Él, sino que apunta a una verdadera homoiosios Theo. El mártir vive un profundo proceso de asimilación a Cristo en una perspectiva theotica, es decir, orientada hacia el logro de la plena comunión y unidad con Dios, un hecho que sublimiza la naturaleza humana del interesado, la cual seespiritualiza y se renueva en Cristo...
The analysis of the topoi in acta and passiones, the assessment of the limitations of this category in defining the recurring themes within martyr texts, and the proposal to use a different concept to describe them, that of paradigm, has led to a reinterpretation of the entire martyr experience from a paradigmatic perspective, specifically as a paradigmatic path of assimilation to God. The paradigmatic nature of the topoi largely depends on the subjects, the martyrs, whom they aim to exalt. The martyrs themselves are, in fact, figures presented as paradigmatic. They are paradeigmata, exempla both for themselves and for others, by virtue of how they have followed the archetypal example of Christ. The martyr’s experience begins with the paradigmatic yearning of imitatio Christi. However, this sequence is not limited to the mere repetition of gestures performed by Christ or words spoken by Him but aims at a true homoiosis Theo. The martyr undergoes a profound process of assimilation to Christ from a theotic perspective, directed towards achieving full communion and unity with God, a fact that sublimates the human nature of the individual, which spiritualizes and renews in Christ...
