AB El arte del siglo XX necesitará recuperar lo mítico desde dentro, reactivarlo para el mundo moderno, y no ya rehacer sus imágenes. Los datos antropológicos ofrecidos por la etnografía determinarán en buena medida el carácter de tal recuperación. Dejando atrás anteriores asimilaciones formalistas, la recepción de las producciones etnográflcas por parte del arte hacia 1930, se hace inseparable de los relatos míticos y usos rituales que les dan sentido. Las revistas de arte y vanguardia de la época tienen un papel fundamental en la implementación de tal proceso. Es justamente a través de ellas y su amplia dedicación etnográca, cómo, a continuación, se ilustrará el preciso momento en que el paradigma mítico, lejos ya de lo lológico, discurre en _el arte hacia una asimilación esencialmente psíquica y cognitiva, abriendo un proceso cuyas consecuencias serán nítidamente detectables hasta los años setenta del siglo.
AB The art of the 20th century would need to recover the mythical from within itself, reactivate it for the modern world and cease to rework its images. To a large extent the nature of this recovery would be determined by anthropological data from ethnography. Breaking away from earlier formalist assimilations, the reception of ethnographic productions by art in the 1930's became inseparable from the mythic narratives and ritualistic uses that imbued them with their meaning. The art and avant-garde magazines of the time played a fundamental role in the implementation of the aforesaid process. lt wasithese magazines and the broad coverage they afforded ethnography that reected the actual moment in which the mythical model in art, now quite distanced from philological concerns, moved towards an essentially psychic and cognitive assimilation, ushering in a process the consequences of which would be clearly detectable up until the 1970's.
