AB Con este libro Olimpia Niglio pretende dar a entender que existen específicas realidades culturales completamente diferentes pero que a la vez están unidas por dos factores comunes: el valor de la cultura y el diálogo intercultural. La valoración de esta diferencia de enfoques, por ejemplo a la hora de llevar a cabo proyectos de conservación y restauración es muy importante.El ‘‘valor’’ de un bien queda ligado a la identidad territorial por lo que este es resultado de experiencias y elecciones elaboradas en contextos socioculturales y económicos distintos. De aquí deriva que su estudio requiera de expertos filósofos, sociólogos y antropólogos del contexto concreto con el que se trate. Estas cuestiones, entre muchas otras, quedan recogidas en el contenido del libro por diferentes casos aplicados en territorios desde Extremo Oriente hasta Extremo Occidente.
