He collaborates actively in introducing newpetrological techniques as optical microscopy and developping new geochemicallaboratories. After hisPh O in Spanish Guinea he works mainly in two geological areas: the Hercynian Iberian Belt and theCenozoic volcanism of Spain. From 7960 (when he became Professor) to 7990 (retiring) he developed agreat number of projects summarized in many publications (articles, geological sheets, books) organizinginternational meetings (Canary 68, W Peninsular 87) and leading douzaines of Ph O projects, creating avast school of geologists. Last years he concentrated his efforts in Canarian Volcanism.
