T1 Hacia una filosofía política del socialismo del siglo XXI.Notas desde el caso venezolano

AB El socialismo en el siglo XXI necesita articular bases compartidas que permitan ir construyendo referentes teóricos. Nada aporta construir un marco teórico autoalimentado. El error del materialismo histórico es que terminó siendo un idealismo ahistórico que dio por hecho un futuro que aún no había pasado. Para cimentar referentes científicos acerca del socialismo hace falta precisar algunos lugares compartidos, si bien, al configurar el socialismo una propuesta normativa, esta tarea se torna ciertamente complicada. Intentando superar las dificultades, hace falta una definición de lo que sea el socialismo. Está pendiente establecer cuáles son los valores que hay detrás de lo que vaya a ser el socialismo en el siglo XXI. Un ejercicio clarificador es comparar los valores del socialismo en el siglo XXI con las otras grandes concepciones del siglo pasado: el liberalismo, el socialismo del siglo XX y el neoliberalismo. El socialismo no puede entenderse al margen de las realidades históricas que lo hicieron surgir ni de los actuales procesos que lo confrontan.
AB In the 21st century, socialism needs to articulatecommon bases that allow for building theoreticalreferents. To construct a self-powered theoreticalframe is not a contribution. It was the error ofhistorical materialism that it ended up being anahistorical idealism that assumed a future yet tocome. To lay the foundations of scientific referentson socialism we need to define some commonground, although, socialism being a normativeproposal, the task certainly becomes a difficult one.Trying to overcome the obstacles, we need adefinition of whatever socialism is. To establish thevalues underlying what socialism in the 21st centurywill be is a pending issue. A clarifying exercise is tocompare those values with the other great trends ofthe past century: liberalism, 20th century socialism,and neoliberalism. Socialism cannot be understoodoutside the historical circumstances that originatedit, or outside the current processes that constitute it.
