Sumado a lo anterior, el funcionario penitenciario trabaja día a día en un ambiente de alta complejidad, inherentemente estresante y que implica un desgaste físico, emocional y social, entorno que requiere poner a prueba todos sus recursos personales frente al estrés laboral y manejo de relaciones humanas. %X The study of Burnout syndrome in prison workers is relevant because of the general lack of knowledge about these professionals at the social level and the characteristics of the work environment that make it especially stressful in Chile.
