T1 Dibujar la historia en los muros palatinos. Memoria y ornato en la corte de Isabel I de Castilla

AB Resumen: Este texto reflexiona sobre los conceptos de magnificencia y solemnidad desarrollados en la corte de Isabel I de Castilla. Analizamos cómo estos principios adquieren visibilidad en el ornato de los muros palatinos y en la creación de escenografías efímeras donde el personal de su casa y corte asumía la custodia, conservación y exposición de un variopinto número de objetos artísticos. Entre los mismos, nos interesan especialmente los objetos de tema histórico, las series o figuras dinásticas y los dibujos o planos de territorios y ciudades. Muchos han desaparecido; de otros, tenemos noticias documentales o visuales. Nos atrae su propia materialidad, su complementariedad con narraciones textuales (escritas o habladas) y su relación con protagonistas regios en una visión global que traslada al imaginario artístico la metáfora de la unidad rey-reino que define la teoría política del momento.
AB Abstract: This text reflects on the concepts of magnificence and solemnity as developed at the court of Isabel I of Castile. It analyses how these principles acquired visibility in the decoration of the palace walls and in the creation of ephemeral settings where members of her house and court took responsibility for the custody, display and conservation of a diverse number of artistic objects. Among them, we are particularly interested in historical themes, dynastic series or figures, and drawings or plans of territories and cities. Many have disappeared; documentary or visual evidence is available for others.  What attracts us is its very material form, the way in which it was complemented by textual narratives (whether written or spoken), and the relationship with royal protagonists in an overall vision that transferred the metaphor of the unity of king and kingdom that defined the political theory of the time to the artistic mindset.
