T1 Relações semânticas em sistemas de organização do conhecimento: uma investigação no domínio da informação legislativa

AB Descreve pesquisa científica em andamento que se propõe a identificar as complementaridades teóricas entre as teorias que fundamentam o estabelecimento de relações semânticas na construção de sistemas de organização do conhecimento, com enfoque em tesauros e ontologias. São objetivos específicos da pesquisa: caracterizar o domínio da informação legislativa brasileira e sua especificidade; levantar e descrever as relações semânticas existentes em tesauros e ontologias; comparar a natureza das relações observadas nestes dois tipos de instrumentos, verificando as convergências e divergências; utilizar as relações semânticas consolidadas e descritas na pesquisa na construção de um protótipo de KOS para o domínio da informação legislativa. Quanto à metodologia, a pesquisa pode ser classificada quanto à abordagem do problema como pesquisa qualitativa e utilizará procedimentos metodológicos da pesquisa bibliográfica e da pesquisa experimental. Na pesquisa bibliográfica, utilizará a literatura publicada principalmente na área de Ciência da Informação para identificar e descrever as relações semânticas existentes em tesauros e ontologias. Na fase empírica da pesquisa será construído um protótipo de KOS para o domínio da informação legislativa, com o objetivo de testar a adequação dos resultados obtidos na pesquisa bibliográfica. Como resultados, espera-se produzir um abrangente estudo sobre relações semânticas na Ciência da Informação com ênfase em tesauros e ontologias. Espera-se ainda, concluir que, mesmo com diferenças nos usos e nas teorias de fundamentação, as relações semânticas adotadas em ontologias e em tesauros são, em alguma medida, complementares e que o conhecimento teórico gerado é aplicável e adequado ao domínio da informação legislativa.
AB This article describes on-going research that aims to identify the theoretical interplay between the theories underlying semantic relations in the scope of construction of knowledge organization systems (KOS). In order to do this, the goals of this research are: i) to characterize the field of Brazilian legislative information and its specificity; ii) to survey and describe existing semantic relationships in thesauri and ontologies; iii) to compare the nature of relationships observed in these two types of instruments; iv) to adopt the consolidated semantic relations in empirical research in order to build a KOS prototype in the domain of legislative information. From the methodological point of view, the research can be classified as applied and qualitative research, and makes use of procedures from the literature and experimental research. In the literature survey, the research uses literature published mainly in the area of Information Science to identify and describe existing semantic relationships in thesauri and ontologies. In the empirical research, we intend to build a KOS prototype to the field of legislative information, in order to test the suitability of results obtained in literature. As a result, we expected to produce a new study about semantic relations in Information Science. At this moment, we have observed that, even though there are differences in the uses of and the foundations of theories, semantic relations adopted on ontologies and thesauri are to some extent complementary. Also, we believe that the theoretical knowledge generated will be relevant and appropriate to the field of legislative information.
