%X En 2004, al rebasar la barrera de los 40 millones de población, los hispanos superaron en número a los afroamericanos y se convirtieron en la primera minoría de los EE.UU.A pesar de que “lo latino” no era un fenómeno nuevo en territorio estadounidense, los datos del Censo y, sobretodo, sus proyecciones de crecimiento hicieron saltar todas las alarmas en un país hecho a sí mismo a base de oleadas de inmigrantes. Comenzaba entonces una revolución mediática en torno a este fenómeno que tuvo su réplica en el ámbito económico, comercial, cultural, lingüístico, publicitario, etc. La política, se daba por hecho, no podía quedar atrás. No obstante, y a pesar de que el poder político de los hispanos no terminaba de despegar, en la primera década del siglo XXI se abriría un debate sobre la inclinación de un peso electoral que no terminaba de definirse...
