%X The ring-opening of epoxides with potassium trifluoroborates proceeds smoothly in the presence of trifluoroacetic anhydride under metal-free conditions. The reactions are regioselective and afford a single diastereomer. Both electron-rich and electron-poor aryltrifluoroborates are tolerated.
