T1 La producción libraria en los hospitales sevillanos durante la Edad Moderna: Libros para rezar y asistir

AB Desde la Antigüedad los hospitales han estado vinculados, de una u otra forma, con la escritura y la producción libraria, siendo éstos vehículos excepcionales con los que transmitir el conocimiento y administrar tanto a los enfermos como a los centros sanitarios. En este sentido, en Sevilla, la proliferación de establecimientos asistenciales desde tiempos medievales, así como su permanencia y pujanza en el tiempo brindaron la posibilidad de transformarlos en lugares en los que la producción de libros fue determinante para mantener viva algunas de las funciones por las que fueron erigidos. En este artículo se tratará del mundo del libro dentro de la hospitalidad sevillana, prestando especial atención a aquellos que fueron realizados para funciones propias del ceremonial religioso y los que se hicieron para la asistencia sanitaria y administración de enfermos.
AB Abstract: Since Antiquity and in one way or another, the hospitals have been linked both bookstore writings and productions. These documents were exceptional vehicles for transmitting knowledge and for managing both patients and healthcare centers. From Medieval, Seville (Spain) was one of the places where there was a proliferation of health care buildings. Their permanence and strength over time provided the possibility of transforming these buildings into book production places. These productions were determined to keep working out some key functions about their residents and physicians. This article addresses the idiosyncratic of these books of the ancient hospitals from Seville. We are going to pay special attention to the books created for religious ceremonials and for healthcare. We detail the participation of some of the most representative booksellers of that time and internal characteristics of those books.
