Our interpretation facilitates establishing a textual relationship between the papyrus and Aeschylus’ “Phorcides”. Furthermore, it allows appreciating the existence of a mythical and literary tradition that placed the Gorgons in Hades, coherent with other extant pieces of information about Aeschylus’ work, and a possible testimony of a “katabasis” of Perseus. %~
