%X A rápida disseminação das tecnologias da informação e da comunicação (TIC) mudou a forma como os movimentos sociais utilizam a Comunicação Pública e o farão novamente no futuro. Este artigo apresenta uma análise da literatura académica relacionada com a influência das transformações  das  TIC  nos  movimentos  sociais  e  respetivas  consequências  para  o consentimento social. O estudo baseia-se numa das dimensões da I&D: "Produção Social de Comunicação e Reprodução Social na Era da Globalização". É realizado através de uma análise do  conteúdo  das  representações  prestadas  pelas  instituições  científicas  que  intervêm  na reprodução  social  do  significado.  Dentro  do  quadro  teórico  da  Produção  Social  da Comunicação, a análise  inclui um corpus  de 180 futuros cenários  da literatura científica e técnica nesta área. Os resultados sugerem que as TIC promovem o acordo entre vários grupos sociais,  mas  que  esse  fato  pode  simultaneamente  desencadear  conflitos  com  outras instituições ou governos.
%X The rapid spread of the information and communication technologies (ICTs) has changed the way social movements use Public Communication and will do so again in the future. This paper provides an analysis of the academic literature related to the influence of the ICT transformations on social movements and its consequences for social consent. The study is based on one of the dimensions of the R&D: “Social Production of Communication and Social Reproduction in the Globalization Era”. This is done through a content analysis of the representations offered by scientific institutions that mediate the social reproduction of meaning. Within the theoretical framework of the Social Production of Communication, the implemented analysis includes a corpus of 180 future scenarios from scientific and technical literature in this field. The findings suggest that the ICTs promote agreement between various social groups, but this might simultaneously trigger conflicts with other institutions or governments.
