RT Journal Article T1 Seebeck Nanoantennas for Infrared Detection and Energy Harvesting Applications A1 Briones, Edgar A1 Briones, Joel A1 Martínez Antón, Juan Carlos A1 Cuadrado, Alexander A1 McMurtry, Stefan A1 Hehn, Michel A1 Montaigne, François A1 Alda, Javier A1 Gonzalez, Francisco Javier AB Abstract— In this letter we introduce a new type of infrared sensor, based on thermocouple nanoantennas, which enables the energy detection and gathering in the mid-infrared region. The proposed detector combines the Seebeck effect, as a transduction mechanism, with the functionalities of the optical antennas for optical sensing. By using finite-element numerical simulations we evaluate the performance and optical-to-electrical conversion efficiency of the proposed device, unveiling its potential for optical sensing and energy harvesting applications YR 2014 FD 2014-12-08 LK https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14352/33922 UL https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14352/33922 LA eng NO [1] L.
