RT Book, Section T1 Utilidad sedimentológica y estratigráfica de los fósiles reelaborados. A1 Fernández López, Sixto Rafael A1 Gómez Fernández, Juan José A2 Fernández López, Sixto Rafael AB In many cases the reelaborated fossils are the best preservedof the assemblages. Even they can not be used to establishand identify biostratigraphical or chronostratigraphical units, the reelaborated fossils are useful for sequential and discontinuitiesanalysis, for location of source areas of sediments, asindicators of paleocurrents, and for identification of sedimentaryenvironments and paleogeography. Some reelaborated fossilsare the only existing record of eroded sediments. They permit theobtention of data on episodes of the Geological History of whichthe stratigraphic record is not available anymore.
