AB Orbayo busca mantener vivo el patrimonio textil típico del macizo Galaico-Leonés, redescubriendo la técnica del “gorullo”, ya prácticamente olvidada, y los vivos colores que teñían sus lanas. Un contacto con el pasado, pero teniendo siempre presente nuestra situación actual. Para ello, Orbayo no solamente ha generado una identidad y un producto, sino todo un sistema y desarrollo de diseño de producción sostenible, comprometido con la educación de los ciudadanos del futuro.Orbayo surgirá así de la relación entre Galicia, León y Asturias, creando un nuevo concepto, hasta ahora inexplorado, anexionando los orígenes a la preservación de la cultura y la calidad de vida de futuras generaciones. Para ello, se combina un sistema de economía circular con el uso de materia prima reciclada: la poliamida reciclada de tiendas de campaña, cortavientos o tela de paraguas. Un material resistente al viento y a la lluvia, al que se le da una nueva vida, protegiendo nuestros océanos y ecosistemas.
AB Orbayo seeks to keep alive the textile heritage typical of the Galaico-Leonés mountains, rediscovering the technique of "gorullo", already practically forgotten, and the vivid colors that dyed their wool.To do this, Orbayo has not only generated an identity and a product, but also a whole system and development of sustainable production design, committed to the education of the citizens of the future.Orbayo will thus emerge from the relationship between Galicia, León and Asturias, creating a new concept, thus far unexplored, annexing the origins to the preservation of culture and the quality of life of future generations. To this end, a circular economy system is combined with the use of recycled raw material: recycled polyamide from tents, windproofs or umbrella cloth. A material resistant to wind and rain, which is given a new life, protecting our oceans and ecosystems.
