%X El objetivo central de este trabajo ha sido identificar las principales ciudades situadas dentro de la banda de totalidad en la península ibérica y las islas Baleares que cuenten con condiciones atmosféricas favorables para disfrutar de una visibilidad óptima del eclipse solar del 12 de agosto de 2026. Con el fin de lograr este propósito, se ha realizado un estudio de la cubierta total de nubes, utilizando los datos del reanálisis ERA5 correspondientes a los últimos treinta años para el día 12 de agosto, con especial enfoque en el intervalo horario de 20:00 a 21:00, momento en el que ocurre la totalidad del eclipse.
%X The main objective of this work has been to identify the principal cities located within the path of totality on the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands that are likely to have favorable atmospheric conditions for optimal visibility of the solar eclipse on August 12, 2026. To achieve this goal, a study of total cloud cover has been conducted using ERA5 reanalysis data from the past thirty years for August 12, with a particular focus on the time interval between 20:00 and 21:00, when the totality of the eclipse occurs.
