AB Vivimos un presente incierto abocados a un futuro distópico. El COVID-19 sumió a la humanidad en la incertidumbre y la vulnerabilidad resultando las mujeres las más afectadas. La Edad de los Humanos o Antropoceno se revela como la era geológica donde la tierra cambia de forma acelerada por la actividad humana y su capacidad técnica para influir en todos los ecosistemas. En este contexto, sugiere Alicia H. Puleo, debería llamarse a la prudencia (Puleo, 2020), nada más lejos de la realidad. Mientras no se materialice un cambio en nuestro modelo de vida poco compasivo, dominado por la productividad irracional del capitalismo neoliberal, no habrá un presente digno, tampoco un futuro. En este punto, el Ecofeminismo aporta desde la teoría y la praxis alternativas sobre la viabilidad y necesidad de un cambio del modelo vital; un cambio sobre el que trabajan las artivistas Stefanie Herr y Gabriela Rivera.
AB We are living in an uncertain present, heading towards a dystopian future. COVID-19 plunged humanity into uncertainty and vulnerability, with women being the most affected. The Age of Humans or Anthropocene is revealed as the geological era where the earth is changing at an accelerated rate due to human activity and its technical capacity to influence all ecosystems. In this context, suggests Alicia H. Puleo, caution should be called for (Puleo, 2020). Nothing could be further from the truth. If a change in our unsympathetic model of life, dominated by the irrational productivity of neoliberal capitalism, does not materialize, there will not be a decent present, nor a future. At this point, Ecofeminism contributes from theory and praxis alternatives on the viability and necessity of a change in the vital model; a change on which the artivists Stefanie Herr and Gabriela Rivera work.
