T1 Quality changes of gaussian beams propagating through axicons

AB The beam quality parameter of gaussian fields propagating through axicons is investigated. A simple analytical formula is derived for the output quality parameter in terms of the input beam width, refractive index of the axicon material and the angle of the axicon wedge.
