%X Los tumores mamarios son las neoplasias que con mayor frecuencia se diagnostican en la perra siendo, por tanto, un problema clínico importante. Son conocidos por su gran heterogeneidad biológica e histomorfológica; estando constituidos por poblaciones celulares de origen epitelial, mioepitelial y/o mesenquimatoso. Además, aunque dichas neoplasias pueden ser de carácter benigno, aproximadamente el 50% son de carácter maligno. A pesar de que en la mayor parte de las ocasiones se trata de tumores de origen epitelial o carcinomas, también existen otras neoplasias que son poco prevalentes que no se conocen en profundidad. Por ello, la presente Tesis Doctoral comprende la realización de tres trabajos de investigación todos ellos centrados en el estudio de tumores mamarios caninos poco prevalentes, centrándose especialmente en los tumores mamarios caninos de células fusiformes (CSCMT) y el cáncer inflamatorio mamario canino (IMC), con el objetivo principal de esclarecer algunos aspectos de su biología celular que se desconocen o son poco conocidos..
%X Mammary tumors are the most frequently diagnosed neoplasms in the female dog, and therefore, they represent a significant clinical problem. They are characterized by an intrinsic biological and morphological heterogeneity, with a frequent involvement of different cell populations with an epithelial, myoepithelial and/or mesenchymal origin. Although these neoplasms can be benign, approximately 50% are malignant. Although, most of the cases are tumors of epithelial origin or carcinomas, there are also other mammary neoplasms with low prevalence that are not fully understood. For this reason, the present Doctoral Thesis comprises the compilation of three investigations with focus on the study of rare canine mammary tumors, specifically canine spindle cell mammary tumors (CSCMT) and inflammatory carcinoma, with the main objective of clarifying some aspects of their biology that are unknown or poorly known...
