T1 Los inicios de la moneda dinástica en el imperio bizantino. la casa de justino y los heráclidas

AB En este artículo analizaremos el problema de la sucesión al trono en el Imperio Bizantino en los siglos VI y VII, y cómo los emperadores de la Casa de Justino intentaron imponer la sucesión dinástica en un Imperio que en teoría estaba regido por la Providencia Divina, siendo las monedas el medio por el cual manifestaban este hecho. La moneda como documento oficial mostraba la regulación de la sucesión a través del nombramiento de un coemperador, que no era simplemente el heredero designado, sino que con su aparición en las monedas era presentado a todo el Imperio como la garantía de sucesión pacífica en el poder a la muerte del emperador senior. Con los Heraclidas se dio un paso más en este sentido y se buscó un gobierno familiar del Imperio, por ello en las monedas aparecerá no sólo el posible heredero designado como coemperador, sino otros miembros de la familia imperial, ya fueran otros coemperadores, o césares.

NO In this item we will go through the question of throne successionin the Byzantine Empire during the 6th and 7th centuries, and how theemperors of Justin’s House tried to impose a dynastic succession in anEmpire that theoretically was ruled by the Divine Providence, of whichcoins were a mean of manifestation. The coin, as official document,showed the regulated succession by means of the election of a coemperor, who was not simply the designed heir, but that through his appearance in the coins was shown as the guaranty of a peaceful succession to the throne after the death of the senior Emperor. The Heraclidstook a step forward in the achievement of a familiar government, and intheir coins not only the designed heir is shown, but also other membersof the imperial family, as well co-emperors as cesars.
