RT Book, Section T1 Global regionalization and the fourth industrial revolution A1 Hernández Martínez, David A2 Hernández Martínez, David A2 Calvillo Cisneros, José Miguel AB The fourth industrial revolution has a decisive impact on the main international dynamics. Technological innovations occur in a period of crisis of the world order and a new reconfiguration of power balances. Technological advances become another element of conflict, where different actors compete to dominate the most strategic industries. The fourth industrial revolution does not promote greater interdependence and globalization of countries but rather deepens the logic of regionalization and the constitution of antagonistic blocks. The chapter analyzes the unequal and unbalanced impact of technology industries in different world regions. The paper aims to highlight the challenges that many countries encounter in adapting to the great transformations caused by the fourth industrial revolution.
