%X Nuestro trabajo aborda el tema del ensayo audiovisual, es decir, una reflexión del yo con imágenes y sonidos en movimiento y, a veces, con palabras. Para ello queremos indagar en el funcionamiento primero de la idea de ensayo literario desde sus orígenes en Michel de Montaigne, pero también en lo que han dicho sobre esta forma o género otros teóricos. Después mostraremos cómo esta forma de escritura, de pensamiento y, en suma, esta metodología de investigación abierta y creativa, se ha traspasado al documental cinematográfico y audiovisual y ha devenido en un modelo de construcción. Por último, analizaremos Mercado de futuros de la cineasta española Mercedes Álvarez. En 2010 cuando la crisis económica y social era más profunda en nuestro país, la autora no muestra únicamente o representa la crisis, sino que también demuestra la crisis de la representación.
%X The aim of this article is to study the essay audiovisual, that is, a reflection of the self with images and sounds in movement and, sometimes, with words. We wish to investigate the idea a literary essay from its origins in Michel de Montaigne, but also in what other theoreticians have said about this form or genre. Then we will show how this form of writing, of thought and, in short, this methodology of open and creative research, has been transferred to the documentary film and audiovisual and has become a model of construction. Finally, we will analyze Mercado de futuros of the Spanish filmmaker Mercedes Álvarez. In 2010, when the economic and social crisis was deeper in our country, the author does not only show or represent the crisis but also shows the crisis of representation.
