AB RESUMEN: Estudio detallado de la imaginería matemática en la prosa tratadística de Baltasar Gracián, cuyo uso se incrementa progresivamente desde "El Héroe" hasta el "Oráculo manual". En la primera parte se evidencia del interés del jesuita por este tipo de expresiones figuradas aplicadas al comportamiento ético. En la segunda se señala la importancia de la matemática en el mundo jesuítico. En la tercera se ofrece un análisis pormenorizado de la expresión matemática aplicada al gobierno ético.
AB ABSTRACT: A detailed study of the mathematical imagery in Baltasar Gracián’s treatise prose, whose use increases progressively from "El héroe" to the "Oráculo manual". The first part shows the Jesuit’s interest in this type of figurative expressions applied to ethical behaviour. The second part points out the importance of mathematics in the Jesuit world. The third part offers a detailed analysis of mathematical expression applied to ethical governance.
