AB Las sanciones internacionales ponen de nuevo en el centro del debate internacional a Irán. El interés del presidente DonaldTrump por implementar nuevas sancioneseconómicas, políticas y militares a este paísestá obligando a los ejecutivos europeos a redefinir su estrategia regional, ya que habíanretomado fluidas relaciones comerciales ydiplomáticas con Teherán. Este trabajo analiza las relaciones de Irán con los miembrosde la Unión Europa, especialmente con Francia, Alemania y Reino Unido, examinandola respuesta europea dada en 2006 y lasposiciones planteadas en el actual contexto.Asimismo, estudia los efectos de las sancionesaplicadas en el pasado sobre las bilateralidades iranoeuropeas. Además, la investigaciónaborda las diferentes posturas de los actoreseuropeos ante la decisión de imponer nuevassanciones y discute las posibles consecuencias que ello puede tener sobre el país receptor y terceros.
AB International sanctions returnIran to the centre of the international debate. President Donald Trump’s interestin implementing new economic, politicaland military sanctions against the countryis forcing European executives to redefinetheir regional strategy, just when they hadresumed fluid trade and diplomatic relations with Tehran. This paper analysesIran’s relations with some EU members,especially France, Germany and the United Kingdom, and examines the Europeanresponse in 2006 and the positions takenin the current context. It also studies the effects of past sanctions on Iranian-Europeanbilateral relations. The research goes on toaddress the different European positions onthe decision to impose new sanctions anddiscusses their possible consequences forIran and third countries.
