T1 La biblioteca del Doctor Antonio Fernández Carril en la Biblioteca Complutense

AB El objeto de la presente investigación es la biblioteca que el doctor Antonio Fernández Carril donó a la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 1890. Investigar y analizar la biblioteca donada sirve para comprender el pensamiento, las tradiciones metodológicas, las aficiones y las necesidades de un estrato social muy representativo en la época decimonónica: los médicos. En este caso en concreto, el analizar los ejemplares conservados, localizar y recuperar índices o fuentes que aporten información sobre la vida del propio Carril, y el análisis de todos los datos reunidos, ayuda a definir la personalidad de una parte de los fondos que hoy nutren a diferentes bibliotecas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.[ABSTRACT]The subject of this paper is Antonio Fernández Carril’s library, which was donated to the Complutense University of Madrid in 1890. Researching and analyzing the donated library helps to understand the thought, methodologic traditions, hobbies and needs of the doctors in the 19th century, a very representative social stratum of the time. In this particular case, the analysis of the preserved books, the position and recovering indexes or sources that provide information about Carril’s life, and the analysis of all of the gathered data, helps to define the personality of a part of the collection that forms the different libraries of the Complutense University of Madrid.
