AB El primer tercio del siglo XX en España estuvo protagonizado por el contraste político. Partiendo del denominado “desastre de 1898”, la gran parte de este periodo se caracterizó por el traspaso de poder entre conservadores y liberales, quienes mostraron un intercambio de políticas educativas, dejando entrever la concepción de la memoria histórica y de la identidad nacional española que querían impregnar en la sociedad española. Todo ello hasta que llegara Primo de Rivera, en 1923, quien con su intención de reducir el analfabetismo tendría que ver frustradas sus aspiraciones de permanecer en el poder.
AB The first third of the 20th century in Spain was marked by the political contrast. Starting with the so-called “1898’s disaster”, the majority of this period was characterized by the transfer of power between conservatives and liberals, who showed, amongst other things, an exchange of educational policies, letting show the conception of the Spanish historical memory and national identity they wanted to introduce in the society. This is what happened until the arrival of Primo de Rivera, in 1923, whose intentions of increasing the literacy rate frustrated him in power.
