T1 Análisis epidemiológico, factores asociados y manejo de la hipersensibilidad dentinaria en pacientes con periodontitis

AB La hipersensibilidad dentinaria se caracteriza por producir un dolor agudo y breve causado por la exposición de la dentina a estímulos térmicos, táctiles, osmóticos o químicos. Esta condición altamente prevalente afecta a la calidad de vida de los pacientes, limitando actividades cotidianas como la higiene oral o la ingesta de alimentos y bebidas. Los factores de riesgo que producen la exposición de la dentina son aún objeto de estudio, aunque se han identificado varios de ellos, destacando la recesión gingival, el desgaste dental erosivo, así como la periodontitis y su tratamiento. La importancia relativa de cada uno de estos factores, y cómo se relacionan entre sí, sigue sin estar clara. En relación a su tratamiento, no hay todavía un estándar de referencia, sino que existen diferentes opciones terapéuticas que han demostrado distintos grados de eficacia. Los pacientes con periodontitis experimentan durante su tratamiento un aumento significado de la hipersensibilidad dentinaria que, en ocasiones, perdura en el tiempo, afectando a la calidad de vida...
AB Dentin hypersensitivity is characterized by a sharp, brief pain, caused by the exposure of dentin to thermal, tactile, osmotic, or chemical stimuli. This highly prevalent condition significantly affects patients' quality of life, limiting daily activities such as oral hygiene or the consumption of certain food and beverages.The risk factors that lead to dentin exposure are still under study, although several have been identified, including gingival recession, erosive tooth wear and periodontitis and its treatment. The relative importance of each of these factors, and how they relate to each other, remains unclear.Regarding treatment, there is yet no gold standard but there are various therapeutic options that have demonstrated different degrees of efficacy. Patients with periodontitis experience an increase in dentin hypersensitivity after treatment, which sometimes persists over time, significantly affecting their quality of life.Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the epidemiology of dentin hypersensitivity and the associated factors in different contexts, as well as to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a therapeutic approach for treated periodontitis patients suffering from dentin hypersensitivity...
