RT Journal Article T1 Razón vital como bio-logía. La filosofía de Ortega y su relación con la ciencia biológica A1 Alonso Fernández, Marcos AB This paper shows how José Ortega y Gasset’s philosophy, one of the most importantthinkers of the first half of the twentieth century, has biological scienceas its basis and constant reference. This idea, defended by some interpretersmust, nonetheless, be remarked and emphasize by analyzing how the orteguianratiovitalist philosophy is an eminently biological. Addressing the influenceof various scientists—especially J. von Uexküll—we will posit such thesis, highlighting as well the potentiality of Ortega’s thought for the present moment, when biological science has risen as the paradigmatic science of our time.
