AB Las herramientas más habituales de identificación de colecciones establecen requisitos de dotación de personal, infraestructura y tamaño para establecer qué instituciones aparecen en sus listados; de esta característica se deriva la existencia de un conjunto de materiales, algunos de excepcional valor, ausentes en los índices de consulta habitual, en razón de que la institución no cumple con los requisitos exigidos. Presentamos una visión global de las ‘colecciones olvidadas’ conservadas en centros docentes no universitarios, museos locales y otros espacios ubicados en territorio español que custodian ejemplares de Historia Natural. Todas ellas albergan fondos de especial interés para conocer tanto la actividad científica de sus autores, como para testificar su tarea investigadora
AB The most common collection identification tools fix staffing, infrastructure, and size rations to establish which institutions appear on their listing. From this characteristic derives the existence of a set of materials, some of exceptional value, absent in the usual consultation indexes, due to the fact that the institution does not meet the necessary requirements.We present a global vision of the ‘forgotten collections’ conserved in non-university educational centers, local museums and other spaces located in Spanish territory that conserved materials of Natural History. All of them are funds of special interest to know both, the scientific activity of their authors, as well as to testify their research work.
