%X Adolphe Sax presentó por primera vez en público un saxofón en el año 1841. Desde esa fecha el instrumento inició su expansión por todo el mundo, comenzando por territorio europeo. El objetivo de esta tesis doctoral titulada El saxofón en las bandas de música gallegas en el siglo XIX, es estudiar su implantación en territorio gallego a través de los diferentes tipos de bandas de música de esta región. Además, se ha perseguido el objetivo de datar el mayor número posible de actuaciones con presencia del saxofón entre sus filas y se han localizado las ventas de material relacionadas con el instrumento: desde cañas, pasando por abrazaderas o los propios saxofones. De esta manera, podemos ver la oferta y demanda que había relativa al instrumento. No olvidamos objetivos importantes como identificar a diferentes saxofonistas de la época, cuyos nombres no pueden caer en el olvido después de haber sido los primeros valientes en tocar este instrumento, por aquel entonces desconocido. Arrojar luz sobre estos temas será también objetivo de esta tesis...
%X Adolphe Sax presented for the first time in public a saxophone in 1841. From that date this instrument began its expansion around the world, starting in his own European territory. The aim of this dissertation named The saxophone in the Galician music bands in the XIX century, is to study its implementation in the Galician territory through the various types of music bands in this region. In addition, the objective of dating as many performances in the presence of a saxophone has been pursued and the sales of the materials related to the instrument have been located: from mouthpieces, passing through ligatures or the very saxophone. In this way, we can see the supply and demand that existed related to the instrument. We do not forget important objectives such as identifying various saxophonists of the time, whose names can not be forgotten after having been the firs brave musicians playing this instrument, unknown at that time. Clarifying these issues will also be the aim of this dissertation...
