AB El presente documento pretende dar una visión general, partiendo desde un nivel 0 de conocimiento sobre programación en R, sobre el manejo de factores, uno de los objetos más esenciales en el software R para trabajar con variables categóricas. Se plantean las nociones más elementales como por ejemplo la creación de factores, como modificarlos, pasando por nociones más avanzadas como la categorización de variables numéricas mediante funciones más concretas, pero de gran utilidad, como cut y la construcción de tablas estadísticas para estudiar la relación entre categorías. Finalmente, se presentan una colección de tareas que se proponen para que el estudiante las intente realizar de forma autónoma una vez haya asentado el aprendizaje. Para que el aprendizaje sea más eficaz, el solucionario de tareas se presenta al final del documento
AB This document aims to give an overview, starting from a level 0 of knowledge about R programming, about the handling of factors, one of the most essential objects in the R software in order to work with categorical variables. The most elementary notions are considered, such as the creation of factors, how to modify them, going through more advanced notions such as the categorization of numerical variables through more specific functions, but very useful, such as cut and the construction of statistical tables to study the relationship between categories. Finally, a collection of tasks are presented and proposed to the student to try to perform it autonomously once the learning has been finished. To make learning more effective, the task solution is presented at the end of the document
