AB En este artículo presentamos una selección de cantigas en las que se tratan temas relacionados con la figura de Santiago, las cuales sorprenden por su tratamiento crítico con la acción del Apóstol en el Camino, llegando incluso a desacreditar su poder en relación a la figura de la Virgen que se presenta como la indiscutible protagonista del cancionero. El estudio de estas cantigas nos permitirá profundizar una vez más en los diferentes motivos que pudieron influir en la realización de este proyecto mariano, así como su vinculación directa con el proyecto cultural y político del monarca.
AB This article presents a selection of Cantigas dealing with topics related to the figure of Santiago.All remarkable for their critical approach to the part played by the Apostle in the Camino, they even discredit his power in front of the figure of Virgin Mary, here portrayed as the indisputable centre of the Cancionero. An analysis of these cantigas will allow us once again to get a closer look at the various motivations that may have triggered the development of this project, as wellas their connection to the King’s cultural and political enterprise.
