AB In this paper we shall study the circumstances and characteristics of thetranslation made by Pedro Urbano González de la Calle of Friedrich Leo’sRoman Literature. This translation was prepared in Spain in 1935, but it wasfinally published in Bogotá fifteen years later. The Spanish Civil war and theauthor’s exile are part of the private history of this book.Estudiamos en este trabajo las circunstancias y características de la traducción que Pedro Urbano González de la Calle hizo de la Literatura romana de Friedrich Leo. Esta traducción se preparó en España hacia 1935, pero se terminó publicando en Bogotá en 1950. La Guerra Civil española y el exilio marcaron la pequeña historia de este libro.
