%X La hipertrofia ventricular izquierda (HVI) es un mecanismo de adaptación del corazón frente a diferentes tipos de estrés. La HVI progresa con el tiempo aumentando la incidencia de insuficiencia cardiaca, arritmias malignas, isquemia miocárdica, complicaciones cerebrovasculares y muerte súbita. En la literatura encontramos tratamientos farmacológicos que producen regresión de la HVI, disminuyendo la incidencia de eventos adversos cardiovasculares así como la mortalidad en estos pacientes. %X Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is a mechanism of adaptation of the heart to different types of stress. LVH progresses over time increasing the incidence of heart failure, malignant arrhythmias, myocardial ischemia, systolic dysfunction, sudden death, and cerebrovascular complications. In the literature we find pharmacological treatments that produce regression of LVH, decreasing the incidence of cardiovascular adverse events as well as mortality in these patients.
