AB Los servicios de información juegan un papel importante en cualquier arquitectura Grid,conformando uno de sus pilares principales.El descubrimiento de recursos, la planificación de tareas, la supervisión y muchas otras sonimposibles sin una información confiable y actualizada de los componentes del sistema.El MDS estándar de Globus [1] nos proporciona un modelo de acceso robusto y dinámico a nosólo información estática, sino también a parámetros que cambian rápidamente como el estadode la cola y de los procesos. Al estar basado en OpenLDAP [2], puede ser mostrado porcualquier herramienta de navegación o monitorización, proporcionando de esta manera unavisión amigable al usuario de todos los recursos.El Sistema de Monitorización de IRISGrid hará uso del módulo LDAP de PHP4 [3] paraproporcionarnos un interfaz web a la infraestructura de información. Este documento especificala funcionalidad, capacidades y uso del Sistema de Monitorización.El Sistema de Monitorización se basará en la consulta del MDS estándar que viene con ladistribución del Globus Toolkit versión 2.4 [4], por lo que se parte de la existencia delmiddleware Globus 2.4 correctamente instalado, y de la estructura jerárquica de IRISGrid.El Sistema de Monitorización no se encarga por tanto, ni de la seguridad, ni de los usuarios, nidel middleware del Grid; únicamente mostrará la información que proporciona el MDS estándardel Globus Toolkit 2.4.El presente Sistema de Monitorización se encuentra enmarcado dentro de las acciones quelleva a cabo el Grupo de Seguridad y Arquitectura de Sistemas Distribuidos [5] del DACyA [6](Departamento de Arquitectura de Computadores y Automática) de la U.C.M. para el desarrollodel TestBed de IRISGrid [7] que tiene por objetivo servir como base para la construcción de ungrid nacional estable.[ABSTRAC]The services of information play an important role in any architecture Grid, conforming one oftheir main pillars.The discovery of resources, the planning of tasks, the supervision and many other areimpossible without a dependable information and brought up to date of the components of thesystem.The MDS standard of Globus [1] a model of dynamic and strong access provides us to not onlyinformation static, but also to parameters that change quickly as the state of the queue and ofthe processes. This document specifies the functionality,capacities and use of the Monitoring System.The Monitoring System will be will base on the consultation of the MDS standard that comeswith the distribution of the Globus Toolkit version 2.4 [4], for which splits himself of the existenceof the middleware Globus 2.4 correctly installed, and of the hierarchical structure of IRISGrid.The Monitoring System itself is not entrusted therefore, neither of the security, neither of theusers, neither of the middleware of the Grid; only will show the information that provides theMDS standard of the Globus Toolkit 2.4.The present Monitoring System is found framed inside the actions that carries out the Group ofSecurity and Architecture of Systems Distributed [5] of the DACyA [6] (Computers ArchitectureDepartment and Automatic) of the OR. C. M. for the development of the TestBed of IRISGrid [7]that considers objective to serve like base for the construction of a grid national stable.
