%X En los materiales paleógenos del borde oriental de la Cuenca deAlmazán se diferencian ocho unidades litoestratigráficas que corresponden a depósitosde sistemas aluviales, fluviales y lacustres con intercalaciones de paleosuelos. A pesarde la complejidad de las relaciones laterales y verticales, el análisis sedimentológicodetallado permite reconocer tres megasecuencias que se interpretan en relación con laevolución vertical de ambientes sedimentarios en respuesta a la variable actividad tectónicadel borde de sierra al que se asocian.[ABSTRACT]Paleogene terrestrial sedimentation between Almazul and Deza(Eastern Almazan Basin, Soria).Eight lithostratigraphic units corresponding to alluvial and lacustrine deposits withinterbedded paleosoil layers have been distinguished in the paleogene deposits croppingout along the eastern margin of the Almazan Basin. In spite of the complex lateral andvertical relationships, detailed sedimentological analysis led to the recognition of threemagasequences thought to be related to the vertical evolution of sedimentary environmentsin response to varying tectonic activity along the sierra front they are attached to.
