AB El siglo XIII es uno de los periodos más relevantes en la literatura medieval castellana: es entonces, en el contexto cultural alfonsí, cuando son escritas las primeras obras en prosa en dicha lengua, realizadas a partir de la traducción de originales en árabe. Bocados de oro forma parte de ese grupo junto al Calila e Dimna, Sendebar o Libro de los buenos proverbios. Pertenece al género sapiencial, cuyas raíces conectan con los propios orígenes de la civilización humana, y es un testimonio que evidencia cómo el legado clásico griego fue asimilado por diferentes culturas con el paso de los siglos. AB The 13th century is one of the most relevant periods in the history of Spanish literature: it was during the Alphonsian cultural context that the first prose works were written in that language, based on the translation of originals from Arabic. Bocados de oro belongs to this group, together with Calila e Dimna, Sendebar or Libro de los buenos proverbios. It belongs to the wisdom literature, whose roots connect with the very origins of human civilization.
