RT Journal Article T1 A Cross-Cultural Comparison of Electronic Government Adoption in Spain and the USA A1 Rufín, Ramón A1 Belanger, France A1 Medina, Cayetano A1 Carter, Lemuria A1 Sánchez Figueroa, Juan Carlos AB This article develops a cross-cultural comparative analysis of electronic government adoption in Spain and the United States, extending existing models of technology adoption in the public sector by incorporating institutional and cultural dimensions. The study builds on a previously validated theoretical framework and tests its applicability across different national contexts.Using quantitative analysis, the research examines how organisational, institutional and cultural factors influence citizens’ adoption of e-government services in both countries. The comparative approach allows identifying similarities and differences in adoption patterns, highlighting the relevance of contextual variables in shaping digital transformation processes in public administration. The results contribute to the literature on e-government by reinforcing the importance of cultural and institutional environments in technology adoption and by providing empirical evidence of the external validity of the model across different national settings.
