%0 Journal Article %A Cebrián Fernández, María del Rosario %T Los restos de una inhumación infantil con amuletos hallada en un vertedero periurbano de Segobriga ¿enterramiento primario o secundario? %D 2024 %U https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14352/113821 %X Abstract: During the excavation of the amphitheatre in Segobriga (2011-2013), the remains of a child burial, aged 5-7 years, were documented. They were found among the waste materials that filled, around 70 AD, a periurban area located between the city wall and the outer ring of the building. Linked to them, some personal objects and small amulets were recovered, presenting a marked protective symbolism framed in the Phoenopunic tradition. A priori it seemed to be an occasional burial –primary grave– outside one of the urban cemetery areas. However, the lack of anatomical connection in the anthropological material and the chronology provided by the amulets do not allow us to exclude the possibility of a secondary burial. These two hypotheses, based on the analysis of the archaeological documentation, offer us the opportunity to reflect on the burials outside the necropolis of Segobriga %~
