T1 Proton decay in a nucleus: effects of the nuclear surface

AB In this paper, a previously published method to deal with proton decay in nuclear rnatter is generalized in order to account for eA'ects coming from the nuclear surface. The treatment is applied to nucleon decay in 16^O and 56^Fe.
