T1 Aproximación teórica al turismo oscuro y análisis del caso de Belchite

AB En el presente trabajo se desarrolla una base teórica tanto de la oferta como de la demanda del turismo oscuro; fenómeno que, aunque siempre ha existido, solo recientemente ha despertado el interés académico, dada la tendencia creciente de su demanda. Con el objetivo de ofrecer un marco teórico concluyente en torno a este tipo de turismo, que ofrezca aclaraciones acerca del estado actual de la investigación y que sea de ayuda en futuras investigaciones, se realizará una detallada conceptualización del fenómeno, demostrándose los problemas y las críticas de su delimitación, además de desarrollarse las distintas clasificaciones de su oferta y discutir las diferentes motivaciones que impulsan su demanda. Posteriormente, procedemos con el análisis del Pueblo Viejo de Belchite, escenario de una de las batallas más sangrientes y desoladoras de la Guerra Civil, que representa uno de los destinos turísticos más oscuros de España. Con la finalidad de clasificar y descifrar el atractivo de dicho destino controvertido, procederemos con el desarrollo de su trasfondo histórico, para posteriormente identificar y analizar los recursos que constituyen su atractivo, realizando un detallado registro. Acabaremos nuestra investigación con un análisis de la demanda.
AB Dark tourism is a phenomenon that, despite its longstanding history, has only recentlyentered academic discussions. Therefore, this work aims to analyse this new field ofstudy, reviewing the existing academic research as well as carrying out fieldwork for acase study in Belchite. The first objective is to analyse the different definitions of darktourism, clarifying scientific terminology and displaying the criticism it has sparked. In thisregard, special interest will be attributed to the disagreement between experts regardingits defining factor – supply or demand. Subsequently, we will carry out an extensiveanalysis of both factors, discussing the different classifications of dark tourism sites, aswell as presenting the wide variety of motivations driving tourists to these destinations.Following this analysis of the theoretical framework, we will present our research carriedout in Belchite, where one of the bloodiest battles of the Spanish Civil War took place.After a quick historical review, we will proceed with the presentation of our field work.Displaying our exhaustive analysis of the different tourist resources of the site, thetouristic appeal of the ruins will be determined. Ultimately, the study will be concludedwith an assessment of the tourism demand.
