%X El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en el estudio de la figura histórica de la condesa Matilde de Canossa (1046-1115) a través de un análisis de la construcción de su mito desde su muerte hasta la actualidad y de una revisión historiográfica de los estudios sobre la condesa en las últimas décadas. En primer lugar, se realiza una revisión crítica de las fuentes en las que se ha basado su estudio, y cómo este ha evolucionado. A continuación, se analiza la construcción del mito sobre la condesa en los diferentes periodos históricos, para proceder después a la revisión historiográfica, señalando los temas que mayores discusiones han generado entre los estudiosos. Finalmente, a través de estas dos cuestiones en íntima conexión, se realiza una reflexión crítica sobre cómo el mito de Matilde de Canossa ha podido condicionar la historiografía, tanto en el pasado como en el presente, y cuáles son las posibles perspectivas de investigación abiertas.
%X The aim of this essay is the study of the historical figure Matilde of Canossa (1046-1115) through an analysis of the construction of her myth since her death until contemporary time and a historiographical review of the studies about the countess in the last decades. Firstly, a critical review is undertaken of the sources on which the studies have been based, and how they have evolved. Subsequently, we analyze the construction of the myth of the countess in the different historical periods. Afterwards, proceeding to the historiographical review, we point out the arguments that have generated more discussions between scholars. Finally, through these two points in intimate connection, a critical reflection is made about how the myth of Matilde of Canossa could have conditioned the historiography, both in the past and in the present, and which are the possible perspectives of future research.
