These two samples of teeth were microscopically analyzed usingScanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Our results support the ‘‘cultural’’ origin of microwear observed onfossil teeth: we conclude that the SH hominins used their anterior teeth as a ‘‘third hand’’ for para- orextra-masticatory activities. %~
