AB Esta tesis doctoral aborda la relación entre la tecnología moderna y el pensamiento metafísico. Lo primero que intentamos es demostrar, mediante la metodología genealógica de Nietzsche, la existencia de esa relación que, de acuerdo con nuestra hipótesis, hunde sus raíces en la antigüedad griega: en los inicios griegos de la geometría se habría producido una singular alianza entre filósofos y artesanos, todos resueltos a representar fielmente la perfección del Cosmos en la forma, pensada o esculpida, de la esfera. De esa primera coalición surge la metafísica, entendida como pensamiento técnico sobre lo ente qua perfección, y el humanismo, entendido como técnica de las perfecciones aplicada al ser humano. En segundo lugar, proponemos un análisis de la tecnología moderna a partir de una concepción histórico-energética de la existencia que se toma muy en serio los avances de las ciencias naturales y de la informática, pero que intenta mantenerse fuera del pensamiento técnico y rechaza de lleno la metafísica. Concluimos señalando el carácter totalitarista de la tecnología moderna; pero simultáneamente afirmamos la posibilidad de resistir a ese totalitarismo mediante la afirmación de un nuevo saber/poder centrado en este mundo y, más específicamente, centrado en el cuerpo, en oposición a la tradición metafísica, que piensa siempre, sobre todo, en el «mundo venidero», en el «alma» o en la «mente»...
AB This dissertation addresses the relationship between modern technology and metaphysical thinking. First, we attempt to demonstrate the existence of this relationship by means of Nietzsche’s genealogical method. According to our hypothesis, this connection finds its roots in Ancient Greece: in the Greek beginnings of geometry we observe a singular alliance between artisans and philosophers, both determined to faithfully represent the perfection of the Cosmos as a sphere, whether in thought or in sculpture. Both metaphysics, understood as technical thinking on being qua perfection, and humanism, understood as the technique of perfection applied to human beings, emerge from this early coalition. Secondly, we propose an analysis of modern technology based on a historic-energetic understanding of existence, which takes very seriously the advances of the natural sciences and information technologies, but which fully rejects metaphysics and seeks to avoid technical thinking. We then conclude by demonstrating the totalitarian nature of modern technology, but we simultaneously assert the possibility of resisting this totalitarianism through the affirmation of a new power/knowledge centered in this world, and especially in the body, in contrast to the traditional, metaphysical focus on the “world to come,” the “soul,” or the “mind.”...
