T1 O processo de busca informacional por alunos de graduação e a biblioteca universitária: uma análise da biblioteca da UNESP/FFC

AB A biblioteca, por ser uma unidade disseminadora de informação, está vinculada aos meios de pesquisa informacional. Logo, tendo em vista a dificuldade de alguns usuários em localizar recursos dentro de um acervo, torna-se necessário buscar formas de amenizar tais ocorrências. Nesse contexto, o problema desta pesquisa buscou abranger os principais obstáculos encontrados pelos alunos no âmbito da graduação e enfocar experiências existentes na literatura referencial da área da Ciência da Informação. O objetivo geral foi analisar a busca informacional dos alunos da graduação que utilizam a biblioteca universitária, no contexto da Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências de Marília. Para tanto, foi feita uma pesquisa de campo, no método de estudo de caso, de caráter exploratório e descritivo. O curso com maior índice de dificuldade foi o de Ciências Sociais, destacando os ingressantes do mesmo. Já os cursos com menor índice foram os da área da saúde, Relações Internacionais e Biblioteconomia. Percebeu-se, portanto, que há não muita diferença nos níveis de dificuldade entre ingressantes e os demais alunos, pois a média foi de três ingressantes para dois alunos matriculados nos anos anteriores. Nesse sentido, mesmo que o número de usuários que não conseguem localizar o item seja baixo, a maior dificuldade existente está na distribuição dos livros no acervo e na desordem do mesmo. Sendo assim, a pesquisa mostrou que o melhor meio de se capacitar os consulentes é por meio da disponibilização estratégica dos manuais explicativos de manuseamento do catálogo e do acervo.
AB The library, as a disseminator of information unit, is subject to the informational search facilities. Therefore, in view of the difficulty of some users in locating resources within a collection, it is necessary to look for ways to minimize such occurrences. In this context, the problem of this research sought to cover the main obstacles encountered by students at undergraduate level and focus on existing experiences in reference literature in the field of Information Science. The general objective was to analyze the informational search of graduate students who use the university library in the context of the Faculty of Philosophy and Marilia Sciences. For this purpose, a field research was done in the case study method, exploratory and descriptive. The course with the highest rate of difficulty was that of Social Sciences, highlighting the entering of it. Already courses with lower rates were those of health, International Relations and Library. It was felt, therefore, that there is not much difference in the levels of difficulty among freshmen and other students, as the average of three freshmen for two students enrolled in previous years. In this sense, even if the number of users who can not find the item is low, most existing difficulty lies in the distribution of books in the collection and disorder of it. Thus, this research has shown that the best way to enable consultants is through the strategic availability of explanatory manuals handling of the catalog and the acquis.
