The present article aims to shed light on the Islamic manuscript tradition in Ethiopia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries by focusing on several codices owned by al-Šayḫ Ḥabīb, a renowned scholar and respected walī from Wällo, in northeastern Ethiopia.
