%X La periodontitis es una de las enfermedades más prevalentes a nivel mundial. Aunque el tratamiento convencional mediante raspado y alisado radicular se considera el tratamiento de elección al mostrar resultados favorables, se han propuesto diferentes agentes químicos y antibióticos que podrían aplicarse de manera complementaria para potenciar sus beneficios. Dada la heterogeneidad observada en la literatura en cuanto a tipo de fármaco utilizado, forma de administración y periodo de seguimiento, es difícil arrojar conclusiones definitivas sobre cual sería el más eficaz. Por tanto, parece justificada la realización de un estudio clínico aleatorizado que permita evaluar los efectos a nivel de tejidos periodontales provocados por el tratamiento combinado de raspado y alisado radicular con la asociación antibiótica de piperacilina/tazobactam....
%X Periodontitis is one of the most prevalent diseases worlwide. Although conventional treatment by scaling and root planning is considered the treatment of choice as it shows favorable results, different chemical agents and antibiotics that have been proposed could be applied in a complementary manner to enhance its benefits. Given the heterogeneity observed in the literature in terms of type of antibiotic used, form of administration and follow-up period, it is difficult to draw definitive conclusions as to which would be the most effective. Therefore, it seems justified to carry out a randomized clinical study to evaluate the effects on periodontal tissues caused by the combined treatment of scaling and rooth planning with the antibiotic combination of piperacilin/tazobactam.....
