RT Book, Section T1 The relationship between large deep mafic sills, crustalcontamination and the formation of Ni-(Cu) and IOCG deposits A1 Tornos Arroyo, Fernando A1 Carriedo, Jorge A1 Velasco Roldán, Francisco A1 Galindo Francisco, María Del Carmen A1 Casquet Martín, César AB The Ossa Morena Zone (SW Iberia) hosts an unusual suite of ore deposits, includingmagmatic Ni-(Cu) and IOCG mineralization. These deposits are interpreted to have a relationship toa deep mafic sill intruded in the middle crust. Interaction of mafic magmas with crustal rocks producedimmiscible sulphide-rich melts and water-rich melts. The latter exsolved large amounts ofFe- and CO2-rich brines that were responsible for widespread albite-actinolite alteration and IOCGmineralization.
