AB Al asumir el desafío propuesto por la invitación de los coordinadores de este dossier, este ensayo apunta a poner de relieve las características particulares de la agenda de investigación que desarrollo actualmente. Con los límites que puede tener un ejercicio de revisión de las propias tareas y la  explicitación de decisiones metodológicas -racionalizadas, en ocasiones, ex post-, se pretende dar cuenta de los desafíos que se generan a la hora de intentar dialogar con tradiciones historiográficas consolidadas en Argentina, como las que dan cuenta de la formación del Estado y la construcción de la identidad nacional. A su vez, se revisan líneas historiográficas sobre identidades transnacionales -latinoamericanismo, panamericanismo, hispanoamericanismo- al calor del estudio de trayectorias de actores que desplegaron tareas diplomáticas. Se sugieren, por su parte, las posibilidades que se plantean al trabajar con fuentes generadas en los espacios de la diplomacia en el giro del siglo XIX al XX. Se han revisado fuentes provenientes del Archivo del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto, el Archivo General de la Nación, el Museo Histórico Nacional, y varios archivos personales y fuentes editas.
AB Taking on the challenge proposed by the invitation of the coordinators of this dossier, this essay aims to highlight the particular characteristics of the research agenda that I am currently developing. With the limits that an exercise in reviewing one’s own tasks and the explanation of methodological decisions can have -rationalized, sometimes, ex post-, it is intended to account for the challenges that are generated when trying to dialogue with consolidated historiographictraditions in Argentina, such as thosethat account for the State building and the construction of national identity. At the same time, historiographical lines on transnational identities -Latin Americanism, Pan Americanism, Spanish Americanism- arereviewed in the heat of thestudy of the trajectories of actors who carried out diplomatic functions. Finally, it reflects on the possibilities that arise by the work with sources generated in the spaces of diplomacy in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Sources from the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, the General Archive of the Nation, the National Historical Museum, various personal files and edited sources have been reviewed.
